What the condition tags on listings mean.

The scale

NM

Near mint. Clean faces, sharp corners, no creases. Minor print-line or edge tick allowed under strong light.

LP

Lightly played. Light edgewear or corner wear, faint surface scratches. Presents clean in a sleeve.

MP

Moderately played. Obvious edgewear, whitening on the back edges, scuffing. No structural damage.

HP

Heavily played. Heavy whitening, deep scratches, or minor creasing. Complete and legible.

DMG

Damaged. Creases, water marks, tears, or ink. Priced accordingly, disclosed always.

Where wear shows

Older cards wear in predictable places: whitening on the blue back edges first, then corner fray, then surface scratches you only catch tilting the card under light. Centering runs tighter on Japanese prints than on the English runs of the same era, so a straight cut is expected, not a bonus. On e-Reader era cards the border carries printed data, so edges count double.

Condition and the buylist

Offers key off realized value for the condition in hand, not the NM price. The buylist pays 50–60% of that in cash, or ten points more in store credit — the estimator on the homepage does the math for any number you type.
